ADJUNCT SERVICES:
Nutrition:
Nutritional management is an extremely important part of your pet’s treatment, without which clinical symptoms can be exacerbated and progress hampered. We offer a comprehensive nutritional service to help ensure balanced nutrition so a healthy body condition can be achieved. The nutrition team can be reached at nutrition@smartvetwales.co.uk.
Behaviour:
At the SMART clinic we are fortunate enough to have both Vets and Animal Care Assistants experienced in handling dogs (and cats) that display confrontational behaviour. We can work with owners and referring Veterinary practices to implement safe and manageable treatment plans. All of our staff also receive training on safe handling techniques, awareness of behavioural ques, use of restraint aids and how to modify our approaches to treatment to facilitate each patient’s individual needs.
This helps us minimise any stress for our patients and to build a positive relationship with their clinic visits from the first appointment. We also have resources for assisting owners with training input to help to perform the home physiotherapy and exercise treatments that support the treatment provided in clinic. If you would like more information on how we may be able to help with a behavioural case please contact us at mail@smartvetwales.co.uk.
