Smart Clinic sponsored triathlete takes on a prestigious ambassadorial role

CEDOL DAFYDD has taken a big step forward in his sporting career by being nominated as an ambassador to Gemau Cymru by Welsh Triathlon. Cedol, 16 and a pupil at Ysgol Tryfan, Bangor, won the Gemau Cymru Triathlon in 2016 and was selected for the Welsh Development Academy. Having attended an assessment weekend in Loughborough, he now races in the British Super Series events across the UK after coming second under-19 in Wales. He recently secured sponsorship from Smart Clinic, which has centres in Cardiff and Swansea. As well as triathlon, he has represented Wales for the second year consecutively in the SIAB (Schools International Athletics Board) cross country races and the WMRA (World Mountain Running Association) in the Czech Republic last year and recently in Italy. Cedol said: “Running in the heat in Italy was a challenge in itself, but it was great to meet and compete against the cream of young runners from 16 countries. I am now a member of Menai Track and Field but have been a member of Swim Gwynedd for a number of years; swimming gave me a core strength and a level of fitness from which I developed my running and cycling.”
