International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic course

Tamsin has just embarked on a five module course in veterinary chiropractic. This involves five contact days per module in Bournemouth. The course is attended by vets and human chiropractors so there is plenty of scope for exchange of ideas. The best part so far is having the opportunity to look at the nervous system from a completely different perspective, considering the concept of ‘functional neurology’. Between modules there is plenty of study to keep her out of mischief and some palpatory studies to be performed on dogs and horses. The first module which started in April focussed on the sacropelvic area. May’s instalment will be the thoracolumbar spine. There is a lot of potential benefit to many of our patients from chiropractic techniques as part of an integrated rehabilitation programme.
